SUNDAY IN MINORI

Gorgeous Sunday
Time to do the walk, uphill on SS 163 into Minori.  There's no "sidewalk" so, you basically walk in the narrow street.  However, the narrowest part out of Maiori has a traffic light so the traffic up and down is single lane.  Here are the pictures along the way!

MY IMPRESSIONS OF MAIORI, ITALY

AFTER ONE WEEK OF LIVING ON THE AMALFI COAST!  Part One

When the sun is shining brightly it's wonderful!  Lots of walking & exploring!  And also taking advantage of the sun terrace on the roof of my building!  I Spent hours up there reading one exceptional day!

On the less beautiful days, people are still out and about,  me included....just dress appropriately and be sure to have an umbrella!  Rain does not scare the locals in this small village!

EATING
Fabulouso!  There is a large selection of restaurants and all of the food I've had has been excellent!

Fillet with roasted garlic potato.  And, of course, PIZZA!

                                                               Ricotta cake!  Deliciouso.

Fried assortment of seafood.

And an antipasto of an incredible soft cheese covered by fresh tomatoes and cured ham, not prosciutto.....I need to take better notes.

Ciao that's it for today!

RAINY DAY IN MAIORI

JUST EAT IN!

One of the biggest advantages of renting a home anywhere is you have a kitchen & can cook!  Today was one of those days!  Leftover sauce and spaghetti with freshly made Brocollini!

And Gelato from across the street!

                                                              Molto Bene!

THE DAY OF STAIRS in MAIORI

Maiori Is one of the relatively flatter Amalfi Coast Towns

BUT IT DOES HAVE STAIRS!

You can walk all over Maiori on flat ground, however, if you want to visit a landmark such as "Collegiata di Santa Maria a Mare" be prepared for stairs!  Interestingly, it was also the way to a hiking trail that leads to Minori.  When I reached the sign, with an
arrow saying Minori, there were more stairs!  I Called it a day!  I'm Opting for the ferry or the bus to visit Minori!  Tip for senior travelers...know your limitations.

ANOTHER DAY IN MAIORI

MAIORI, FABULOUSO DAY

Today was a day of stocking my pantry!  It started with my grocery cart.

And ended with this!

Cutting Board & knife ready!

I must say, shopping for groceries with your own cart and just a minute walk from the apartment is a. sweet treet!  Tomorrow I am making my own sauce....aka gravy!  With sausage!  And a side dish of Broccolini!
Mangia!

Advantages of Traveling as a Senior Alone

ADVANTAGES OF TRAVELING ALONE AS A SENIOR
Especially in Italy

They as a people and as a nation respect the elderly.  I'm Reminded of the time in Venice...me with 3 bags of luggage at my designated spot to meet my water Taxi.  The Boat pulls up and the boatman is hollering "IMPOSSIBLA". Apparently, due to the water level it was impossible for him to pick me up on that side of the bridge.  Me looking at the bridge I had to cross with 3 bags ... I Was in a dilemma. Until a young man just grabbed the two larger bags and carried them over the bridge to my Taxi.  No hesitation....then he hugged me.

Lovely ladies sitting beachside today ....near my favorite bench!
